The solar powered Bubble Tower was next to the exhibit hall, in between Brown’s Amusements carnival and the food court, on the way to the midway and the barns. A terrific location! When you go to a fair or festival, you never know what you will find interesting. That is the special challenge of producing an event as well. Do you ever really know what the public will find interesting?

As a Denver “city boy” I’ve driven past many a prairie dog mound, and had read, and could imagine, the dangers to man, equipment and livestock of stepping into prairie dog holes. At the Sweetwater County Fair, I got a firsthand experience, as the entire unpaved parking lot was riddled with an prodigious colony of flattened prairie dog mounds!
Here are some of my impressions from the fair:

You just never know what you will find amongst the giant turkey legs, deep fried PBJ sandwiches, live stock auctions, live acts and attractions!
In between showing their 4H entries, these guys practiced every day. By the last day, they were GOOD!
